Travel Notes is a documentary travel show from Cleveland, Ohio natives and brothers Isaac Jeffrey Kay and Timothy James Kay. The show seeks to ask and finds answers to the following question: “What does Music mean to you?” Drawing inspiration from shows like Chef’s Table, Parts Unknown and Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the goal of Travel Notes is to have meaningful conversations and experiences with fascinating musicians around the world, captured in a distinctive and sumptuous cinematic style.

The Team

Isaac Jeffrey Kay
Executive Producer, Host

Isaac is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, University of Denver, Westmont College, and the Cleveland Institute of Music Preparatory College. He has performed in the great halls of Europe and America, has toured the world as a Lincoln Center Artist, is a recipient of fellowships at the Aspen Music Festival and School, and has performed with the Omaha Symphony, New World Symphony, and Santa Barbara Symphony orchestras. Additionally, he has performed chamber music with Augustin Hadelich, Stephen Waarts, Robert Chen, Simone Porter, Alex Kerr, and Jeremiah Shaw.

Timothy James Kay
Executive Producer, Director, Cinematographer

With nearly two decades of experience behind the camera, Timothy has Directed, Produced and Edited 30+ short films and 2 feature films. He’s had the privilege to film and photograph Presidential Candidates, NY Times Bestselling Authors, Celebrity Athletes and Emmy and Oscar winning filmmakers. His work has performed virally online, been screened at the Cannes Film Festival, and aired on major American networks. As a storyteller, he is committed to singular purpose: to invite audiences into experiences that invoke Beauty and Wonder.

Andrew Didway
Executive Producer, Cinematographer

Andy has been working in TV full time since 2011. For the past 7 years he has worked on documentaries for sports television - E:60 for ESPN, SC Features for Sports Center, PGA Tour Originals, and 30 for 30 Films as a Cam Op/Cinematographer. Andy has had the honor of being part of multiple Sports Emmy-award-winning shows and productions as a Cam Op/Cinematographer. In recent years, he's directed documentaries on such topics as Special Needs and Recidivism, Homelessness, and Fatherhood. Currently, he is directing a film on the refugee crises in Ukraine.

    Mary Ahlman is an award-winning editor and story developer for documentary, short, and narrative films. Her human-centered editing has premiered at Tribeca Film Festival, been produced by Madonna, and has screened at the U.N. to advocate human rights worldwide.

    Jeffrey Emerson Gaiser is an award-winning composer for trailers, television, and video games. He studied piano and violin at the Cleveland Institute of Music Preparatory School, before attending Berklee College of Music, where he was the recipient of the prestigious ASCAP scholarship. After moving to Los Angeles, Jeffrey has worked on numerous projects including The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Outlander, Agents of Shield, and Call of Duty: Mobile. His work has been heard at the Hollywood Bowl, Kulas Hall, Severance Hall and around the world.

  • Sound Designer

    James’ love of sound started in his early teens recording his own music. After college, he played bass on the road with bands from Nashville. For the last decade, he has provided Audio Field Recording and Audio Post for short and long form projects. His work has been heard by millions, airing on ABC, AMC, BBC Radio, HGTV, Investigate Discovery, NBC, Nat Geo, Velocity, Destination America, TV Land, and the Travel Channel.

    Kevin R. Crawford is a working writer, executive producer. He earned his PhD. in Media Communication with emphasis in film and the MFA in creative writing. He has authored more than a dozen award-winning screenplays. He is also President and CEO of Peloton Entertainment. Kevin bounces between L.A. and Norfolk, Virginia where he teaches screenwriting and undergraduate film studies courses at Old Dominion University. He also teaches and designs distance learning courses for CLT and the Department of Communication & Theatre Arts. Dr. Crawford is a member of the American Screenwriter's Association, WGA-IWC, ASIFA-Hollywood, one of the longest-operating chapters of ASIFA, promoting the art and industry of animation. His published works range in scope from professional and trade periodicals to newspaper and scholarly journals. His latest projects include a novel, a recent feature-length production now in distribution, three big screen adaptations under contract or in various stages of development, and a popular trade version of his own dissertation on the legendary work of Hollywood Director Christopher Nolan.

  • Drone Cinematographer

    Martin Reuben started TRG Multimedia (www.trgmultimedia.com) in 1983 as a commercial photography studio and has shepherded its growth through digital imaging, video, and CGI creation into an internationally respected media producer. As an FAA-certified drone pilot, Martin is attracted to the complete release of the physical restrictions that conventional camera mounting systems require. With the drone, camera angles and moves can be found and adjusted quickly and accurately to produce amazing footage and stills within tight production schedules.

Our fundraising goal is $30,000 dollars. This amount will cover hiring an Editor to create a polished 35-50 minute pilot episode, a Composer to create a compelling score, and a Sound Designer to create a fully immersive auditory experience.

“Associate Producer” | $1,000
